Now you know how to sign up, log in and explore the resources on My Future Quest, take some time to check out the information and activities available! Why not use this opportunity to learn more about your options at Higher Education, whether that’s courses, accommodation or where you might like to study, plus lots more.

Section 4: Higher Education opportunities and providers in your local area

We are fortunate that there are several Higher Education providers in Bristol and the surrounding region. This means that if you wanted to study at Higher Education and stay in the local area, there are many options for you.

We have listed some of these local universities and colleges below and have included information on where to look to find out more about what they offer.

We will be exploring opportunities in the local area again in future resources.


University of the West of England (UWE)

The University of the West of England is a campus university and has three main campuses: Frenchay, Glenside and City. UWE offers over 200 courses and has over 29,000 students studying at the university! For more information on the courses that UWE offers check out their website.


University of Bristol

The University of Bristol is based in Clifton, and this is where most of the university buildings are based. There is also a campus in Langford, which is where the veterinary science courses are based. The university has over 300 different courses and over 25,000 students! University of Bath

The University of Bath is a campus university located in Claverton Down in Bath. The university predominantly offers courses in engineering, humanities, management, science and social science. Find out more here.


Bath Spa University

Bath Spa University is located in Bath and has four campuses: Newton Park, Corsham Court, Sion Hill and Locksbrook. You can choose to live in the city of Bath or in student halls of residence on campus if you wanted to move into student accommodation. You could also choose to live at home and travel to the university. Information about the courses offered at Bath Spa can be found on the university website.


City of Bristol College

City of Bristol College predominantly offers level 3 Further Education courses, such as A levels or L3 BTECs, however the college also offers some Higher Education qualifications. HE courses offered at City of Bristol College include Software Development, Digital Marketing, Creative Arts Therapy and Film and Media Studies, to name just a few. South Gloucestershire and Stroud College

South Gloucestershire and Stroud College is often called SGS College and also offers some Higher Education qualifications in addition to post-16 study options. HE courses offered at SGS College include Game Art, Sports Coaching, Specialist Make-Up Design and Zoological Management. Find out more here.
