We hope you had fun playing the hilarious conversation card game ‘Sussed?’ and found out something new about everyone at home. This month the Unlocking Potential team at South Bristol Youth are dreaming big but we need your help … we want to create our very own virtual zoo!
That’s why we’ve posted you an origami book full coloured paper and easy to follow instructions so you can help us create a virtual zoo on our website, full of photos of origami animals. Look out for the post this week!
Origami is the ancient art of paper folding and it’s a creative way to develop concentration – it can be relaxing too! Why not have a go at making some of the animals in the book before you take on our challenge?
Once you have mastered making your favourite origami animal from the book, use what you have learnt to teach someone else how to make it… without looking at the instructions!
This challenge will not only test your memory and teaching talents but will continue to develop the important communication and team working skills that the Unlocking Potential programme seeks to build in young people.
Once you’ve completed your challenge, make sure you send a clear, landscape photo of your origami animals to us at firstname.lastname@example.org to be included in the virtual zoo on our website. Get creative, the more animals and photos we have in our zoo the better. We can’t wait to see how you get on!
Mastered the animal kingdom? Check out these cool origami designs to test your new paper folding powers:
