LEARNING TO LEAD

Learning to Lead is an exciting new programme for South Bristol Youth as it is our first opportunity to work with primary aged students and their families. This programme aims to develop the children’s self-worth, confidence and enable them to get fully involved in their school community as well as the community of Hartcliffe and Bristol. We aim to work with key stage two students on a range of activities including visits to Wild Place, Clifton Suspension Bridge, Aerospace and Bristol Old Vic over a two year period.

It was always a struggle getting him to school, he doesn’t have much self-confidence but since finding out about this he is up, dressed and ready every morning. Because it is just a few children he feels really special to be chosen.

This is such a good opportunity, my son is quite shy and doesn’t do much stuff apart from gaming. He feels more confident ’cos he got selected and really looks forward to it all. I am too – we get to do things as a family we would never normally do.
